So I talked to Dr. Greco this afternoon because I had a handful of questions since I was not at the last appointment. Long story short, surgery is going to be pushed up to September or October. Since she is polysplenic, but we don't know if any of them function, we don't want her to get an infection, RSV or any cold/flu due to the season. She has to get the synagis shot each month up until April to avoid RSV. So with that, we decided to push up her surgery to avoid her getting sick. I'm ok with it. Its best for her, I don't have to wait around 3 months and ponder. I just want to get this over with and not have to be in constant fear that she is in heart failure.
Thank you for the tremendous support! Heart surgery is just so frieken scary!!!

Sorry that it's being pushed up but I think that is very smart to do it before cold and flu season. Here if you want to talk. Broc was 3months when he had hid 1st heart surgery.
ReplyDeletethank you. I'm ok with this actually, i know its best. Now when we find the exact date, and if its in 4-6 weeks, then I may be talking to you:)
ReplyDeleteI know that this is not what you were hoping, but it sounds like you're feeling good about the reasons behind the move and that's so important. And if it protects against the impact of the cold and flue season? Well...there you go! Good luck in the next month getting prepared and spending lots of time (hopefully not all at 3 am!) cuddling. :)
