Hospital stay #2
Hospital stay #2 = no baby. Anyone who has experienced latent labor can probably sympathize what I'm going through. I'm going on 5 weeks with terrible contractions and cramping. Friday night (during the horrible snow storm) I started experiencing really bad cramping, menstrual-like cramping. It felt like one long contraction, however I never really felt that before. Usually its constant contractions. I did not sleep at all. I tried warm baths, nothing seemed to give me relief. Mike ran in the Polar Dash Saturday morning and I had a hard time handling Zander on no sleep plus cramping. When he got home I rested as much as I could. He told me I should call the on-call doctor and see what type of relief I can get/do. Luckily it was my OB on call. He told me to take Tylenol and if in an hour they are still there, to come in. I had no intentions of going into Triage since I didn't think I was in labor. But he said I could be progressing faster then I think. So we went in at 7pm. The nurse hooked me up to the contraction machine and sure enough I was contracting (intensely) around 3-5 minutes apart. Then they got closer around 1-2 minutes apart. Some were to the point I was crying. She did a cervix check and nothing! No change. They kept me for another two hours and wanted to recheck me. Again, nothing. They could see how much pain I was in so they hooked me up to an IV to give me some meds to help relieve the pain. Then after another 2 hours they would re-check me. And of course, no effacement. Its so upsetting to me because I'm in so much pain. Since I'm only 36 weeks, they will not help labor. And if I don't have any progress by Friday, my OB can't strip my membranes. I think little Zoe wants to be induced at 39 weeks. I just want some relief.
