So our last echo went well. No new news really. Dr. Gottiener was able to see some of the stuff she questioned before, but we truly wont know anything more until Zoe is born. Now we just have to pray that there are no other heart defects or organ failure (which can't be seen in utero). She could have a multitude of holes and other heart issues, along with kidney and liver failure. Usually when you have more than 2 heart defects, along with some organ problems, there tends to be more issues. We knew this was a possiblility all along, just scary to think now that labor is coming soon, that we could hear more problems. So all in all, no new news is good:) Her rhythm is great and so is her heart beat.
Only scary thing is figuring out what is more important to have surgery first, her bowl obstruction or her heart. But I know thats up to the surgeons to decide. Dr. Gottiener did reassure us that all of Children's surgeons and doctors are well notified about me and Zoe. She said we have nothing to worry about as far as having people know whats going on. :)
I feel like its Christmas all over again, Mike went to the mail box today and we got a gift from Nicole Rossi Collins, a sorority sister of mine. I actually went to the same elementary school and Jr. High with her, then we moved to Geneva. Then when I joined Tridelta, I found out she was in the sorority. Nicole (a/k/a Rossi) made us Zoe's name in vibrant colors. She enclosed a note that made me tear up. Her last two sentences really touched me "I know Zoe is going to be a strong, vibrant and beautiful little lady (just like her mommy), so I wanted to make her something with vibrant colors. I hope you enjoy it and know that she is such an inspiration to so many!".
Thanks Rossi, truly. And we still need to schedule that play date we've been talking about for the last year:) xo
I forgot to put this picture up before Christmas, this is the gift from a bunch of my highschool friends gave me (Jennifer Manning, Jessica Naylor, Erin Gidley, Katie Nelson, Jennifer Naylor, Kim Tully, Brittany Egan, Trisha Zubert and Jill Johnson). It was a bunch of wonderful gifts and gift cards to go out to eat while we visit Zoe in the NICU. Again thank you so much!
