So Monday being Martin Luther King's birthday, I of course was contracting really bad. Go figure. My kids love making me miserable on holidays. We really thought we were going to head back into the hospital. My OB said on the phone that if I could still walk and/or my water didn't break, that I shouldn't come in. You know how long I contracted for 2-3 minutes apart....sometimes there were a minute apart... 20.5 hours long. I was miserable. I was in agony. And all my doctor could say is "I'm sorry". I'm still contracting, although they are around 10 minutes apart.
I went in for my 35 week appointment today (since I'm high risk, I have a doctor appointment a week). I really thought I would have made progress. Sadly, she's cozy and warm and shows no sign of an early arrival. I'm still dilated at a 2. My cervix is essentially closed. Bright side is that she has dropped. I no longer feel her in my rib cage. I'm now measuring 36 weeks, right on track. At the end of your pregnancy you don't produce as much amniotic fluid. So with her dropping and the less fluid production maybe will get things started? I asked if he would induce me sooner than 39 weeks and his answer is "no". He will strip my membranes at 37 weeks. So hopefully if she's not here sooner, that will help me deliver. I know each woman is different. When my mom was pregnant with me, they stripped her membranes at 37 weeks because they thought she had pre-eclampsia. She went into labor that night. So here's hoping something happens soon. I'm in alot of pain!
I haven't gained any weight from a week and a half ago. Which kind of worries me since babies gain a pound a week at this point. I'm worried she's not gaining. My doctor believes she's still gaining weight.
So it looks like I may be beating the norm on women who have babies with duodenal artesia (double bubbles). So far i'm almost 36 weeks and she shows no sign of making her debut. I should be so happy since she's still "cooking", however I'm just in constant pain (and boredom).
Weight gain for mamas tends to slow down in the last weeks even when the baby gains so don't worry! I was always so thankful for that! Haha. I was usually coming up on my "I really didn't want to gain more than 35 pounds" limit by the last few weeks so was always happy for my doc to tell me that it should slow down.
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl!! I swear by acupressure to kick start labor! (google it for the right way to do it ONLY if u get permission from the doc first!!
You have done amazing and Zoe is going to be so proud you're her mother someday when she is pg with her own baby!! ;)
I haven't put that much weight on this pregnancy, thats what worries me...but she's kicking alot, so maybe she's just eating everything I put in my mouth!
